Born the son of a preacher, Dan’s love of music began early listening to hymns and playing drums in church on Sunday mornings. By his teens, he discovered rock and roll, forming his first punk band straight out of high school before writing his own songs and fronting pub rock gigs across Northern NSW.

The band went on to self-tour Australia in a truck packed with gear, finishing the journey with a set at the Gold Coast’s Big Day Out. Since then, Dan Hannaford has built a reputation as one of the hardest-working independent solo musicians on the East Coast, delivering raw, honest performances that suit a long Sunday session perfectly.
