SUMMARY:Bret Mosley | Sunday Session
DESCRIPTION:Originally from West Texas\, by way of New York’s indie music scene… veteran road warrior Bret Mosley creates his own soulful\, original blend of folk and Americana—a uniquely potent\, raw\, and emotional medicine—a sound which PopMatters.com described as\, “…no more country than R&B\, no more folk than rock.”\nWith stirring vocals\, intricate lap-slide guitar\, and a stomping groove\, Mosley delivers deeply personal\, poetic songs that explore love\, longing\, and the human condition. His live performances\, marked by raw intensity and emotional depth\, forge a rare connection with audiences—both intimate and transcendent. Known for leaving listeners balmed and inspired\, Mosley’s shows are a cathartic experience that resonate long after the last note fades.\nFrom coffeehouses and clubs to concert halls and major festivals like SXSW\, Mountain Jam in the US\, and Australia’s Blues at Bridgetown…and an upcoming appearance at Agnes Blues\, Roots and Rock Festival\, Mosley has built a reputation as a true original—a must-see act for fans of real\, honest music that speaks straight to the heart. \nbretmosley-home-alt \n\nIN ASSOCIATION WITH:\nOffbeat Operations (https://offbeatoperations.com.au/)\nFOLKS ARE SAYING:\n“…he has a Milky Way with words.” – BRONWEN EXTER\n“…roots folk rock at its best…quietly stunning in its seemingly simple beauty…” – ACED MAGAZINE\n“…in the desert somewhere between Son House and Leonard Cohen.” – WAMC 90.3FM\n“…combines every facet of Americana music to form rogue stories in song.” – STEAMBOAT TODAY\n“The blues is one of those genres that can easily become a paint-by-numbers kind of game\, plugging in the required elements where they’re supposed to go. Bret Mosley takes the paintbrush and breaks it in two\, creating something with the jagged edges that’s more authentically blues than most of what passes for the real thing these days…” – COLUMBIA FREE TIMES\n“As if he was sent to summon a message to the people…with a fiery\, authentic performance that has since impacted my perceptions of what a live show should be…Bret’s performance reminded me that it’s the music and enthusiasm of the people playing that keep me coming back for more.” – THE MUSIC INITIATIVE\n“To describe your performance is not possible!! I would run out of superlatives before I got halfway. Your performance moved me in more ways than just listening to music…moved me physically and electrically\, the energy raised my hair\, gave me goose bumps.” – SOUTH WEST BLUES CLUB-BUNBURY\, WESTERN AUSTRALIA\n“Bret Mosley ripped up his slide guitar\, and with Picard’s help on the drums\, delivered a cutting set with a bluesy\, snarly\, lowdown sound. His bare feet matched the raw power of his persona and voice\, making you want to simultaneously dance and cry.” – CHARLESTON CITY PAPER-SOUTH CAROLINA
